WHAT IS A CENTER FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING?

Connecticut’s Centers for Independent Living are single points of access to services for people with disabilities. For additional information and to locate a center, visit the association website: https://cacil.net/. Centers for Independent Living:

were codified into law with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973;
are charged with promoting empowerment and self-reliance for persons with disabilities;
are operated and administered by persons with disabilities;
offer a single point of access to services for all people regardless of the nature or type of disability; and
offer advocacy, information and referral, peer counseling, skills training, and other supportive services for persons with disabilities.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

All persons with disabilities.
